RKW Group at Agritechnica 2015 Hall 27, Booth F40

With innovations such as the multi award-winning film combination Polydress® O2 Barrier 2in1, the RKW Group underscores its technological and solution expertise in the agricultural sector.

Award winning and highly sought-after: A unique combination of silage and vacuum film is capturing new markets

Hanover/Michelstadt, November 09, 2015 – The innovative film solution made by RKW, Polydress® O2 Barrier 2in1, which was first premiered in 2012, has proven to be successful in Europe and is now targeting new markets in North America. The unique, multi award-winning combination of silage and underlay film accelerates and simplifies the work steps and, at the same time, guarantees excellent silage stability due to its up to 10 times higher oxygen barrier.

"The sales of the innovative and unique silage film has tripled since its market introduction. We see a significant potential for further increasing sales volume, in particular in the international markets," says Siegfried Meise, Sales Manager at RKW Agri GmbH & Co. KG. “Since Polydress® O2 Barrier 2in1 has become well-established in Europe, the next step is the expansion into Canada and the United States."

In February 2015, the film innovation Polydress® O2 Barrier 2in1 was awarded by a committee of experts at the World Ag Expo, the largest agricultural trade fair in the USA; prior to this, the film also received awards from recognized committees in Europe.

Only one work step is required in order to spread out RKW's innovative film combination on the silo. The secret: The Polydress® O2 Barrier 2in1 already attaches to the silage while it is being covered. The underlay film separates itself independently from the silage film after a few days. That doesn't only save valuable time. Due to the low weight, it is much easier to work with this film than with other traditional silage films.

Aside from the globally unique combination of polyethylene silage film and polyamide underlay film, Polydress® O2 Barrier 2in1 particularly convinces through its barrier characteristics. The oxygen barrier is six to ten times improved over traditional silage and underlay films, ensuring lower fermentation losses and minimizes the development of mildew, whereby the quality of the silage itself is optimally retained, even on the edges and surface. The film is very stable, expandable, and tear-resistant. Polydress® O2 Barrier 2in1 shows its sustainable side in the production and packaging: up to 60% less raw materials in comparison to other traditional covering systems reduce the product’s environmental impact as well as lower the recycling costs.
